Nigeria bomb blasts in Maiduguri

Three bombs have exploded in a densely populated area of Maiduguri in north-eastern Nigeria, with reports of casualties.

Two blasts occurred at a hotel and one at a transport hub on Sunday night. Casualties have been taken to two hospitals in the city.

The Islamist sect Boko Haram has been blamed for similar attacks.

The latest bombings come ahead of elections on Tuesday for the governors of Nigeria’s 36 states.
