Mogadishu — A Somali member of the parliament has criticized the transitional federal government for not living up its role in central Somalia.
Speaking to the media in Mogadishu, Mohammed Sheikh Yusuf, a Somali lawmaker, said that the interim government has not given any support to Somalia’s moderate Sufi group of Ahlu Sunna Waljama ASWJ which controls much of central Somalia.
Mr. Yusuf went on to say that Ahlu Sunna Waljama is a great ally for TFG, which controls only few blocks in conflict-ridden Mogadishu.
He pointed out the government in the past has sent several of its ministers in others regions in the country not central Somalia, where Ahlu Sunna dominates.
He ruled out Ahlu Sunna administration in the region has a close relationship with neighboring Ethiopia.
