Huambo — The coordination of the Paralympics Committee in Huambo holds Saturday in the village of Mungo city, 150 kilometres north off Huambo city, sitting volleyball games, soccer with crutches, wheelchair basketball and athletics races, as part of the programme for prospecting athletes with physical disabilities.
Speaking to the press, the coordinator of the committee, Jose Guilherme, said the tournament will include the participation of athletes already established and aims to encourage disabled people to be engaged in sports.
He said that the games will be held on Sunday in the town of Bailundo, 80 kilometres off the provincial capital.
The provincial sports nucleus controls 259 athletes, 168 men and women, enrolled in the sports such as athletics, wheelchair basketball, soccer with crutches, sitting volleyball and swimming.
