Easter Soup Kitchen 2011 a huge party underway

The 2011 version of the annual Joy FM Easter Soup Kitchen, organised in partnership with Unibank, is currently underway at the Efua Sutherland Park, otherwise known as the Children’s Park in Accra.

Thousands of revelers, mainly nursing mothers and their babies, adolescent boys and girls as well as children are also being screened medically. They are being issued medications while those with serious health issues will be referred to the Ridge Hospital.

The event, an annual socialization programme for thousands of society’s deprived, is aiming to fete over 20,000 people this year. Ten children are also to be selected to be sponsored to acquire vocational skills or to be put through school.

The party is holding until evening, while huge piles of clothing, used and new donated by corporate institutions and individuals, are to be distributed to them.

The 2011 Easter Soup Kitchen is sponsored by Unibank, MTN, Coca-Cola, Blue Financial Services, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, K-Net, Dream Financial Service and Volta Catch Tilapia
