The dome of the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) was the venue of the largest gathering of Christians and gospel music lovers in the country as Harvest International Ministries presented to Ghanaians the 13th installment of Harvest Praise.

Dubbed ‘Harvest Praise 2011’, the jam packed gospel event showcased the best of Ghanaian gospel greats such as Cecelia Marfo, the ever green Daughters of Glorious Jesus and arguably one of the world’s most sensational international gospel greats, Benjamin Dube from South Africa.

Song after song, the atmosphere at the Dome of the AICC was nothing short of spiritually uplifting.

The gospel show, which started at the National Theatre in 1998, has over the years evolved into one of Ghana’s biggest shows on the gospel and entertainment calendar.

The ‘Mysteries’ opened the show with a ministration that traced its sources from both Ghanaian and South African roots and Harvest Gospel Choir gave a resounding and spirit-filling ministration kicking it all off with a powerful praise and worship time.

Resounding performance from GMA Award winner, Cecelia Marfo, Yaw Antwi-Dadzie and the Harvest Gospel Choir got the show going. 6 year old Kobby Quadjie’s revealing 5 minute presentation on Jesus Christ and what he means to him gave the crowd something to think and cheer ever so wildly about. His recollection of his lines in the poem and his innocent voice to accompany the recitation was icing on the holy cake.

A short sermon by Rev. Fitzgerald Odonkor, President of International Ministries, on Easter and its significance was a moment of reflection for the over 3000 people in the dome of the conference center.

The ever green Daughters of Glorious Jesus reminded Ghanaians of the reason why their names remain on the lips of music lovers in the country. From playing drums themselves to getting the patrons of the show waving their white handkerchiefs in the air, the group was simply amazing. Performing some of their great classics such as ‘me bo wodin daa’ from 1991 and Momma yenben Awurade.

A kind and generous donation of GHC 5,300 was made in support of the Citi FM Easter Orphan Project.

Then Benjamin Dube, the world renowned international gospel singer, rocked the show with some great performances. He interlaced it with a bit of inspirational talk and got patrons dancing out of the dome into a holy spirit filled night.

He however made sure the crowning glory of his ministration was a series of performances of Ghanaian gospel tunes. The crowd loved it.
