Diniyar Bilyaletdinov has rubbished reports claiming he is set for a move to Russian club Rubin Kazan.

The Everton midfielder had been linked with a move back to his native country with the Champions League outfit, who were also believed to be interested in a move for Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.

Bilyaletdinov however denies there has been any contact with Rubin over a possible move away from Goodison Park.

“Do not believe the rumours about Rubin. I didn’t go and they didn’t call,” he posted on social media network Twitter.

Pavlyuchenko has spent the season in and out of the Spurs team but started the north London derby draw with Arsenal on Wednesday night, while Bilyaletdinov scored a stunning goal in Everton’s recent victory over Wolves.

Rubin Kazan head coach Kurban Berdiyov claimed the club had previously attempted to sign the Toffees midfielder, who arrived in England during 2009.

“We were negotiating with Bilyaletdinov, but he didn’t want to come,” he said.
