He described the business environment in Abuja as one that is fast growing and said there is need to encourage those doing business, especially young graduates who ventured into business after fruitless search for jobs.
According to him, the trade show concept was designed to discourage the habit of hawking openly or displaying or selling goods from vehicles at public functions in the FCT.
The team leader explained that a market place will be created during the show, where traders can display their goods and services and sell to the public.
“You may have observed that at any gathering in Abuja, you see a lot of people who come around there and display their wares while some sell from their cars,” he added.
He cited Abuja National Mosque as one of such places where traders converge from all over Abuja and neighbouring towns to sell goods, adding that the show will add value to trading so that if traders can’t rent a shop, they can periodically bring their goods to a market place to sell.
He said organisers of the show will in turn keep a catalogue of all the people who would participate in trade shows so that their customers can be given information on how to reach them even after the show.
On the frequency of the show, the team leader said it will hold three times annually, adding that exhibition at the fair ground (Old Parade Ground, Abuja) will also witness entertainment sessions to thrill visitors.
