His side welcome Palermo to San Siro on Wednesday night for the first-leg of the Italian cup semi-final and Allegri’s emphasis is on nothing but winning.
“We want to honour this cup. We have the chance to try and win the Scudetto and at least make the Coppa Italia final,” he told the press.
“We have not won anything yet, but I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t have the availability of great men.
“It’s a very important semi-final for us and we want to try and reach the final by getting a result tomorrow and in the game in Palermo.
“There is enthusiasm and it’s important we use it to get to an important objective like the cup final.”
In an unusual move, the coach announced some of the players who would be starting. Andrea Pirlo was a substitute against Sampdoria but he will feature from the starting whistle against the Sicilians.
“Andrea Pirlo, Thiago Silva, Marco Amelia and Antonio Cassano will begin from the start,” Allegri stated.
Palermo coach Delio Rossi said his side were looking for a result in Milan, and Allegri expects a tough test.
“Palermo are a young team with great individuals. They will try to get to the final as that will make them get into Europe,” he said.
“They are one of the best teams in the league. It’s no surprise they were fourth in the league not so long ago. They have quality and always show it.
“Our objective is to do well. We want to make sure we go to Palermo for the return leg with the right chances.”
Milan lost to Palermo 1-0 in Serie A last month.
