Manchester United will drop points after having crashed out of the FA Cup – Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere

Jack Wilshere believes that Arsenal can still win the Premier League, and expects Manchester United to go on an end-season slump that could enable Arsene Wenger‘s men to win the title.

The Red Devils recently crashed out of the FA Cup after getting beaten by their arch-rivals Manchester City, and the teenager compared it to the Gunners’ Champions League exit at the hands of Barcelona.

The north London club went on to lose their next game – against Sir Alex Ferguson’s charges – and have won only one game since. But with the league leaders having a six-point lead with a fixture at the Emirates left to play, Wilshere believes that that the push to win the Premier League is still on.

“I definitely still believe we can win the title,” he said, according to The Mirror.

“We are confident United will drop points. We suffered after we lost to Barca in the Champions League. It was a hard two weeks for us and now the same can happen to United.

“They lost at Wembley and then have a big Champions League semi-final against Schalke coming up. Maybe that can put them off.

“The other thing is, they still have to come to the Emirates. If we beat them, then maybe we can put them on a bad run.

“Of course, we have to start winning games. It’s six cup finals left. That’s what makes the game against Spurs Tottenham Hotspur so big.

“It’s massive.”

Arsenal take on Tottenham in a north London derby at White Hart Lane on Wednesday, while Manchester United lock horns with Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Tuesday.
