Mikel has not figured in the first team of The Blues in the last three matches with speculations that he could well be on his way out of Stamford Bridge in the summer.
The Brazilian Ramires has been preferred to the Nigerian by manager Carlo Ancelotti.
“I will keep fighting and hopefully I will get my place back,” said Mikel, who would dismiss speculations he could be shipped out at the end of the season as “paper talk”.
“This is football and things like this happen. But I have played for five years under several coaches.”
Mikel still has four more years to run on his Chelsea contract.
He also expressed confidence that Chelsea have turned the corner and could still retain their EPL crown at the expense of rivals Manchester United.
