He pleaded not guilty. Sergeant Seth Ahelegbe told the court presided over by Mr Charles Bamford Nimako that the convict and complainant, Mary Mensah, a trader, resided at Mpohor in the Mpohor Wassa East District of the Western Region.
Sgt Ahelegbe said that on March 12 this year, the complainant, asked the convict to assist her convey mushrooms to her corridor. The prosecution said that few minutes after Sampson had left the house Mensah detected that her mobile phone was missing.
Sgt Ahelegbe said that Mensah confronted the convict over the missing mobile phone but he denied stealing the phone. The prosecution said two weeks later when the complainant saw the convict with the phone, she reported the matter to the police at Mpohor.
