Making a statement at a presentation ceremony held at the company’s Wilkinson Road headquarters in Freetown, Director of Commercial Services Joe Amara-Bangali Jnr. congratulated the winners for their good fortune.
He recalled that during the promotion that ran from 25th November 2010 to 6th March 2011, culminating in the grand draw, subscribers were required to recharge a minimum of 7, 500 units within a period of 103 days to qualify for the draw.
Summer Mania II, he said, was a long promotion that paved the way for the bi-weekly draws at the Alafia Beach Garden, Lumley Beach, which he said presented a perfect opportunity for Comium and its subscribers to romance.
Mr. Bangali went on to describe the grand prize winners as among the most valued subscribers, noting that they had to top-up a minimum of $20 airtime monthly.
“As a result of their loyalty each of them will take home today a brand-new mobile phone containing a SIM that has been configured to offer 11 months of free unlimited Comium to Comium calls,” he pointed out.
The Summer Mania II promotion, Mr. Bangali said illustrated the love Comium has for its customers who the company rewards with the most affordable tariff, great quality service and exciting promotions.
During the bi-weekly draws fabulous prizes were dished out at every draw to 35 lucky winners that included a total of 8 brand-new motor bikes, 8 plasma TVs, sixteen 2.5kva generators, 40 deep freezers, 160 Nokia phones with $121 airtime as well as a host of consolation prizes.
The Comium Commercial Director also spoke on the ongoing ‘Let’s Show The Love’ promotion, which is geared towards promoting love and freedom. He said as a way of celebrating the country’s 50th independence anniversary, Comium is offering 3 units per minute for all on-net calls anywhere outside the Western Area.
In the Western Area, he added that whenever a subscriber (post or pre-paid) talks 500 units within a week they will receive the following day five free minutes for Comium to Comium calls only. He also spoke on the weekend free calls for only 150 units by dialing *333* or by calling Call Center on 111.
Mr. Bangali assured of a nationwide daily free Comium to Comium calls between 1am and 7am.
He described the holding of the grand draw as a befitting climax to a successful promotion, thus commending all staff of Comium for their relentless effort in making the promotion a memorable one.
The program was climaxed by the presentation of the 11 i-phones to winners.
One of the winners, Augustine Tamba, said he was very excited for winning the prize. He disclosed that the phone would help him reduce the amount of money he used to spend on top-up, stating that he recharges more than 10, 000 units monthly.
He urged non-Comium users to come onboard. To Comium users, he beckoned them to recharge more to stand a chance of winning similar prizes.
Mr. Tamba ended by commending Comium for maintaining the status of the nation’s choice for communication but however urged them to improve on their coverage so as to reduce the network overload, especially during the weekend free calls.
