The Dutchman imparted a recent warning shot to his current employers, ruling out playing in next season’s Europa League should FC Hollywood fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Bayern are currently fourth in the Bundesliga, outside the Champions League places. Christian Nerlinger, the director of sport for the Allianz Arena side, last week shrugged off reports of a Robben exit but the Netherlands international has made his feelings known.
Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri is eager to bring in a top-class wideman, and the Rossoneri would consider making a move for Robben.
Allegri has been steadily constructing a reinvigorated playing panel at San Siro but Goal.com understands he also has unfinished business in the transfer market.
A move for Robben depends on whether the Dutchman would be interested in a move to Italy and Bayern’s resistance to losing one of their most influential players.
A Milanello source told Goal.com:
“The club are making excellent choices in the market and have been with the arrivals of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antonio Cassano who they basically got for nothing.
“If Robben wanted to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season then Milan would certainly be interested in him.
“Milan want a top level attacking player for the flanks as all they have at the moment is Ignazio Abate, and he is defensive. Robben could happen. But we have to see how things turn out.”
