Ama Benyiwa Doe has been accused by Allottey Jacobs of instigating the youth in the region to demand his dismissal from the NDC party.
An NDC youth group, the Concerned Youth of Cape Coast have called for the dismissal of Allottey Jacobs from the ruling NDC party.
The group claim that Mr Jacobs is amassing wealth for himself and is not working for the interest of the NDC party.
A member of the group, Yusif Baba, speaking to host of the Citi Eyewitness News, Shamima Muslim on Wednesday March 23, alleged that Mr Jacobs is a known spy for the opposition NPP who gives out vital information to the opponents of the NDC.
Yusif Baba added that they have evidence that Allotey Jacobs is the “biggest enemy” of President Mills and therefore the President should cease working with such a person who is bent on tarnishing the image of the NDC.
However, Mr Allottey Jacobs in a quick reaction rubbished all the allegations, describing them as simply part of efforts to malign him. He added that the allegations are false and a calculated attempt spearheaded by the Regional Minister to dent his image.
“They are disgracing the party. All that they are saying are a bunch of lies. If a hero becomes a villain then God bless these fickle minded boys. They don’t know what they are talking about”.
Mr Allottey Jacobs alleged that Ama Benyiwa Doe is the mastermind behind the call by the youth for President Mills to dismiss him. He added that the Central Regional Minister is using the youth of the region to achieve her own parochial interests.
“I don’t know any of these people. These are fickle minded people and I say Ama Benyiwa Doe is using them. If you listen to the cause of their statement it is the same thing that Ama Benyiwa Doe was saying (earlier about me)”.
However, Ms Benyiwa Doe told Citi News that as a responsible woman she would not allow “low level” persons to sully her dignity.
She refused to confirm or deny the allegations made by Allottey Jacobs, saying that she has worked hard over the years to carve a niche for herself and would not descend to the gutters with people with no dignity.
“I have been a responsible politician, I have been an assembly member, I have been a deputy minister and I have been a member of parliament for 12 years so I do not intend giving this high level profile that Ama Benyiwa Doe has made to exchange it for a low level name”.
“I am a dignified person and as a responsible Regional Minister I do not intend to exchange my dignity. Check the background of the people who are speaking to you, I do not intend to speak to this matter”.
