A DAY after a publication by DAILY GUIDE with the headline ‘Sack Bernard Allotey Jacob Now’, the Central regional communications director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), another group has stepped in to plead with President John Mills to ignore the call.

According to the group calling itself Foundation for Peace within the NDC in Cape Coast, Allotey had been very instrumental in the party and that if Mills sacked him, the party would be doomed in the region.

The group made this known at a press conference organised in Cape Coast, in reaction to the publication that Allotey Jacobs should be sacked from the Mills administration because he was the biggest enemy to President Mills.

The co-ordinator of the Central regional Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN) of the NDC, Yakubu Alhassan, who read the statement on behalf of the group, said Allotey Jacobs had contributed immensely towards the victory of the party in the 2008 elections and did not see why some mushroom associations were making bad utterances and statements against him.

Yakubu stated that the Cape Coast Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Anthony Egyir Aikins, and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Cape Coast, Ebow Barton Odro, had contributed a lot to the party and did not see why the so-called concerned NDC youth were demanding the removal of the three.

“We wish to state that the three do not warrant the sack being instigated by the group,” he said.

He stated that both Professor Mills and Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings qualified to lead the party in the 2012 elections, hence the need for members of the part to desist from lobbying for them to offer themselves as leaders of the party.

The spokesperson further disclosed that the utterances of the various followers could destroy the future of the party, adding the party had not opened nomination so people should wait and campaign for the one who would get the nod at congress.

“We are ready to ensure the party’s victory in 2012 as well as 2016 so let us work hard and stop the politics of insults,” he said.

Alhassan Yakubu appealed to the leadership of the region to avoid all actions which had the potential to destroy the gains made by the party since 2009, urging the youth to desist from misguided actions and statements which could disturb the peace of the party.

Some NDC youth, allegedly under the control of the regional minister, had asked President Mills to sack some ‘unrighteous’ people in his administration since the seat was a ‘Holy Seat’ which did not need to be surrounded by greedy bastards such as the Cape Coast MP, MCE and Allotey Jacobs.

The group disclosed that Mr. Jacobs had been able to put up a multibillion mansion, hotel and wedded his wife within two years of the Mills administration.
