The Inter defender missed out on the 2010 World Cup when Diego Maradona was in charge, but current coach Sergio Batista is showing faith, and the 37-year-old is delighted to be able to represent the Albicelestes once more.
Speaking to Clarin, he said: “It’s always nice coming back to the national side.
“It’s important because you have to get in the minutes which are useful to help the team understanding.”
Zanetti has been capped 139 times for his country, scoring five goals.
