Former Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy and Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) candidate in Ekiti Central Federal Constituency Mr Opeyemi Bamidele has lamented the depreciation of the country’s currency in the 12 years of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government.
He urged Nigerians to reject PDP’s candidates in next month’s elections. Bamidele promised to sponsor a bill against the Federal Government’s domineering power over the Federation Accounts for equitable distribution of resources.
Bamidele, the ACN candidate for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1, comprising Ado-Ekiti and Irepodun/Ifelodiun Council Areas spoke in Afao Ekiti during his campaign tour of the nine towns in Irepodun/ Ifelodun in preparation for the April 2 election.
Regretting that the Naira has depreciated tremendously compared to the dollar in the last 12 years of PDP’s “misrule,” Bamidele said the currency was not as bad as this under the military junta.
He urged the populace to reject PDP at the polls because “PDP is not fit to rule Nigeria again. They only provide infrastructures for our people, jobs for our youths and security by mouths and not by action or planning”.
