Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has conceded that Manchester City are the current favourites to finish fourth in the Premier League.

Spurs are four points behind their Manchester-based rivals and have a game in hand, but the former West Ham boss believes that the spending power of the Eastlands outfit sees them being in a better position to challenge for the last available Champions League spot.

The two sides faced each other at the end of last season, with Tottenham winning 1-0 to secure fourth place at the expense of City.

“It’ll be close again – it could go down to the wire like last season,” Redknapp said, according to The Mirror.

“I think Manchester City are our best chance of catching somebody. I think Chelsea are starting to look strong again.

“It’s tough fighting on two fronts. And Manchester City are favourites – they should be in there, shouldn’t they?

“You look at their resources, look at the money they’ve been able to spend on players, they’ve got £30-odd-million players not even starting for them.”
