The appointment committee of Parliament will today begin with vetting of new deputy ministerial nominees appointed President Mills over a month ago.

Sources close to the committee say the first set of nominees to be vetted at today’s sitting are those who are sitting members of Parliament.

The first to be vetted will most likely be Hon. Acquinas Quansah, MP for Mfanstman West and Deputy Minister designate for local Government and Rural Development.

The second is expected to be Hon. Ernest Attuqauaye Armah, deputy minister designate for Western Region.

Others are Hon. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, deputy Minister designate for Eastern Region and Hon Kojo Fynn, District Assemblies Common Fund Administrator Designate.

Minority Leader of parliament and Member of the Vetting Committee, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu told said that the proficiency of the candidates is key to Tuesday’s vetting.

We may have to look at the competence of people, then maybe having to look at the President appointing members for specific position and when we do that it would prevent the President from any further reshuffle as such then we would be moving the agenda of our natural development forward.
