Alessandro Matri: Juventus’ Target Is To Win Every Game

Juventus striker Alessandro Matri has said that they will take to the pitch for the remainder of the season with the intention of winning every game and retains hopes of Champion League qualification for 2011-12.

The Bianconeri returned to winning ways on Sunday afternoon as they defeated Brescia 2-1 in Serie A. It was Juve’s first win in five attempts in the league and sees them stay seventh in the league table with five points between them and sixth-placed Roma.

Juventus, who failed to finish in the top four in the league last season, are 11 points off the final Champions League place, but Matri retains hope and has been quoted as by the club’s official website as saying: “The Champions League target? The target is to win every game and gain the most points as possible. Only after we’ll see where this attitude takes us.”

Reflecting on the implications of their victory over Brescia, the 26-year-old stated: “And it was important more than ever to gain a positive result, for the morale and for the table.

“Now we have two weeks to work well and to prepare the very best for our next games.”
