National Democratic CongressThe Afram Plains Constituency Chairman for the NDC, Prosper Galinor has assured teachers in his constituency that the MP, Emmanuel Didieye will apologise to them after he has officially apologised to parliament on Monday.

Mr. Galinor said the MP is scheduled to render an official apology to his colleagues in Parliament, after which the constituency will organize a public forum for him to apologize to the teachers, whom he described as being drunk.

The Constituency Chairman disclosed on Adom Fm’s Dwaso Nsem on Monday that, he has already met Mr. Didieye after he made unguarded comments to the effect that 80% of his colleagues are womanizers, who spend their monies on women.

The MP further accused protesting teachers that, 60% of them spend their salaries on alcoholic beverages.
However the teachers are incensed over the refusal by the MP to apologise to them, even though he apologised to the MP’s and Parliament late last Friday.

Describing the MP’s comments as unfortunate, Mr. Galinor said he will personally ensure that the public forum is organized when the MP returns to the Constituency, and apologize to the NDC executives as well as those he has offended.

Meanwhile, Mr. Didieye has expressed regret for making the unguarded statement, but said he is ready to face the Privileges Committee in Parliamen.

Speaking to Adakabre Frimpong Manso on Dwaso Nsem on Monday, Mr. Didieye however condemned reports that he ran away from parliament for fear of the wrath from irate MP’s.

“I wanted the tension to subside before I entered the house but it is not true I vacated my seat while the House was in session”, Mr. Didieye stated.
