Matt Cardle off the market: X Factor winner breaks hearts by admitting he is in a relationship

He made girls swoon with his stunning voice and nice guy demeanour during the X Factor.

So, after that winning formula secured him last year’s X Factor crown, it is little wonder that record label bosses would be keen to keep Matt Cardle looking available.

But the singer has broken hearts by admitting that he is in a relationship with a dancer from the show.

Mail Online reported back in December that the 27-year-old was seeing gorgeous brunette Sarah Robinson, 24.

The pair spent New Year’s Eve together in Newcastle after meeting during the series.

While rumours circulated about Matt’s romance with stylist Grace Woodward and backstage trysts with make-up artist Lauren Clements, he and Sarah hit it off early in the series.

After he won the show, they decided to make a go of it, according to the Sun.

When asked at last night’s X Factor tour show at London’s O2 Arena if he
was single, he said: ‘I’m sorry, I can’t say that. I can’t promise
that.’

Sarah, who has been a backing dancer for stars including Paul McCartney and Shirley Bassey, caused such a stir on last year’s show when she was banned from dancing with teen band One Direction because she made them too nervous because of her stunning looks.

Last month she and Matt were spotted driving through London in his Peugeot 107 during his rehearsals for the X Factor tour.

According to the Sun, Sarah split from her boyfriend of four years, singer Blair Dreelan, just weeks before embarking on a relationship with Essex-born Cardle.

Dreelan is a member of boy band Ba5e, who had auditioned unsuccessfully for X Factor three times.
