Liverpool have reignited their interest in Blackpool talisman Charlie Adam and are set to join Tottenham in the race to sign the Scot, according to the Daily Mirror.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish was at Ewood Park to see Adam score a brace in the Seasiders’ 2-2 draw with Blackburn on Saturday and is known to think highly of the former Rangers man.

Liverpool are looking to strengthen their midfield in the summer and having seen a £9 million bid for Adam rejected in the January transfer window, Dalglish is hoping that he can sign the wantaway playmaker in time for next season.

Tottenham’s chief scout Ian Bloomfield was also present at Blackpool’s clash against Steve Kean’s side, following up a longstanding interest from Harry Redknapp in the Bloomfield Road outfit’s in-form midfielder.

Ian Holloway has already admitted that his captain is likely to leave in the summer, having accepted that the Scot has the quality to play at any Premier League club.
