Jack Wilshere believes Arsenal are still Manchester United’s main challenge for the Premier League title despite their 2-2 draw with West Brom on Saturday.

Arsenal trailed Roy Hodgson’s side after Steven Reid put the hosts ahead, before a mix-up between Manuel Almunia and Sebastien Squillaci allowed Peter Odemwingie to double their lead.

The Gunners fought back through Andrey Arshavin and Robin van Persie though, and Wilshere has targeted a maximum points return leading up to the crucial clash with the Premier League leaders at the Emirates.

“We were a bit sloppy, but showed great character to come back from that and have to push on now,” Wilshere said, according to the Daily Mail.

“There are nine games left and we really have to go to it.

“United still have to come to the Emirates, and we will have to beat them there – from now, that is the biggest we have to look forward to. Until then, we will just have to win every game.

“We all feel we are still their main challengers and in the dressing room, we believe we can win it.

“Hopefully the fans do too, because we need them behind us as well.”

Arsenal are five points adrift of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side, but have a game in hand as they look to end a barren spell without silverware.
