Ghana Under-20 will camp in Kenya for their African title defence
Ghana’s Under-20 will camp in Navaisha, Kenya for two weeks before leaving for South Africa to defend the African title, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The Black Satellites pre-tournament training tour will begin on 1 April and will leave on 14 April.
Ghana’s camped in Navaisha in 2009 en route to winning the African championship in Rwanda under Sellas Tetteh.
An earlier plan to camp in Barcelona, Spain was scuppered after Libya were replaced as hosts after an uprising in the North African country forced Caf to move the tournament from there.
“We weather conditions there are similar to that to that of South Africa and will be good for preparations. We expect the foreign-based players to join us here or meet in South Africa for the start of the competition,” Black Satellites management committee head Jordan Anagbla told GHANAsoccernet.com
Ghana are in Group B together with Nigeria, Cameroun and Gambia.
