There was drama in Benin, Edo State, at the weekend when supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) abandoned their campaign train and started singing the praise of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
It all happened when Oshiomhole was inspecting the Ekperi-Udaba-Anegbette Road in Estako Central Local Government.
The PDP supporters, who were on the campaign train of Abbas Braimoh, representing Estako in the House of Representatives, jumped out of their vehicles and ran towards the governor.
They said: “You are our man. It is you that we know. Nothing go happen to you our governor. Carry go. We dey behind you.“
The supporters danced in front of Oshiomhole’s vehicle for several minutes, ignoring calls by their leaders to return to their vehicles.
Braimoh, who also greeted Oshiomhole, described his projects as credible.
Oshiomhole said he was happy that caterpillars were campaigning for the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
“The good thing for me is that these caterpillars are doing the campaign for us than our mouths can convey. And it makes our job easier.
“Things are going very well. You can see our opponents, who are campaigning can’t help but appreciate that things are happening.
“Before now this is a community one can’t access. Edo is working again, we are doing more in the rural communities,” he said.
