Milan striker Alexandre Pato will miss ten days with a sprained ankle, but club doctrs are confident he will return for the derby against Inter on April 2.

The Rossoneri got more than what they bargained for at Palermo, with last night’s loss being followed by injury problems for the Brazilian and also full-back Marek Jankulovski.

A statement on the club’s official website reads:

“Milan can communicate medical examinations were carried out on Pato and Jankulovski. The striker has a light ankle sprain to his left foot and will be out for ten days.

“The defender has a twisted knee and his condition will be re-evaluated over the next few days.”

The hitman came off just after the hour mark, to be replaced by fellow Selecao ace Robinho, but they saw their lead at the top in peril as a Goian strike meant the points remained in Sicily.

Luckily for Milan, the international break will offer them respite and time to prepare for the big city clash in two weeks.
