On September 11, 2010, Petey Pablo attempted to board a plane with a 9mm handgun hidden in his carry-on luggage. After being indicted by a grand jury, the North Carolina native plead guilty Wednesday (March 16) to possession of a stolen firearm.
Pablo, born Moses Barrett III, will face up to 10 years in prison as a result of his actions. The rhymer, best known for his 2004 hit single ‘Freek-A-Leek,’ will be sentenced in June.
The ‘Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry’ creator was apprehended last September when he attempted to board a plane at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina. He was en route to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. When airport security scanned Pablo’s bag through a screener, they found the firearm amongst his belongings inside.
