West Ham United midfielder Kieron Dyer has joined Championship side Ipswich Town on a one month loan deal.
The former England international has found himself surplus to requirements at Upton Park after a series of injuries which have seen the him make just 17 starts since joining the Hammers from Newcastle United in 2007.
Dyer has made just 13 appearances for West Ham this season and despite the club currently fighting against relegation Avram Grant has allowed the player to move to Portman Road on a temporary deal.
Ipswich currently lie mid-table in the Championship table and Paul Jewell has taken the opportunity to bolster his squad entering the final stages of the season.
Dyer now returns to the club where he started his career and made 90 appearances for Ipswich before securing a move to the Premier League with Newcastle in 1999.
The player has also been capped for England 33 times and has now rejoined his hometown club and will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game at Leeds.
