Victors FC will be without goalkeeper Banjamin Ochan for Friday’s Caf Confederations Cup first leg match against Democratic Republic of Congo’s Motema Pembe at Nakivubo Stadium.
Victors have been trying to register their new recruit Ochan for the Friday fixture but were frustrated by technicalities in the process. “We were told (by Caf) that we can only register new players after qualifying for the group stages,” club secretary Haruna Tamale told Daily Monitor yesterday.
Coach George ‘Best’ Nsimbe had earlier expressed optimism that he would have Ochan replacing Ali Kimera in goal but must now work with the available resources.
But Nsimbe will be pleased with his side’s current form which has seen them record impressive results, the most recent being yesterday’s Bell Uganda Cup 3-0 win over Kase FC at Kakindu. Ismail Kazibwe, Eric Ssebuguzi and Edgar Luzige got the goals for Victors to make the last 16.
