Leeds are without first-choice hooker Steve Thompson, who is away with England, and skipper Marco Wentzel who suffered a calf injury against Exiles.
Thompson is replaced by Scott Freer and Sean Hohneck comes of the replacements bench to partner Daniel Browne at lock.
Northampton have scrum-half Lee Dickson back from injury and start Shane Geraghty at full-back.
Courtney Lawes has been released by England and starts alongside Christian Day while Roger Wilson is number eight.
Leeds Carnegie head coach Neil Back told BBC Radio Leeds:
“We played them a couple of weeks ago, took some good opportunities early on, but then they came back at us.

“We have got to focus hard on doing the basics well once again and focus on maximising everyone’s potential, that what we need to do to beat Northampton.
“We’re really pleased to have Hendre Fourie back from England duty, the squad will benefit from that on the field on Saturday.”
Northampton centre Jon Clarke told BBC Radio Northampton:
“We’ve got to up our performance. We’ve gone a bit sideways.

“We’ve made mistakes and teams jump on it. It’s disappointing but stuff we can get right.
“We want to win, we’ve got to get that win. We’ve got to get ourselves going and perform well but the win has got to be the end result.”
