The 22-year-old beauty donned a pair of fluorescent pink high waisted shorts with a funky striped pattern which looked very sixties inspired.
Clutching a large coffee, the actress appeared to be enjoying the warm Californian sunshine as she laughed and chatted with her mystery companion on their walk through the trendy beach-side community of Venice.
Vanessa has had a busy couple of weeks on the promotional tour for her new film Beastly – a modern day interpretation of the Disney classic Beauty and The Beast.
After the Los Angeles première she jetted to New York for the East coast release.
