Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard may require surgery on a groin problem, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 30-year-old has been suffering from the injury lately, which has prevented him from travelling with the Reds squad that will take on Braga in the Europa League.
The midfielder may need to go under the knife to correct the problem, which would probably see him miss a significant chunk of the remainder of the season.
Liverpool face Braga in the first leg of the last 16 in the Europa League at the Estadio AXA on Thursday evening, with Andy Carroll expected to make his European debut for the club.
