Ligue 1 side will offer £4 million for the England international in the summer after the former Chelsea man had a transfer request rejected in January after having a loan move to Fulham cancelled.
The City youth product has only made five league appearance so far this season and found himself very much on the fringes of the squad until Adam Johnson got injured in late January.
Wright-Phillips, who has 36 caps for England, signed for City in 2008 for a reported fee of £8.5m after three fairly unsuccessful years at Chelsea, who signed him from the Citizens in 2005 for £21m.
The England international currently has one more year left on his contract after this season and could therefore be available on the cheap this summer.
