Diana HopesonThe President of the Musicians Union of Ghana, (MUSIGA),  Diana Hopeson has said that husbands of female musicians who are also their managers are “dream killers”.

According to Mrs. Hopeson,  some of these husband-managers have succeeded in killing the dreams and careers of of some Ghanaian female artistes both in the Gospel and the secular sector who had prospects.

Speaking to Adom Entertainment News, Diana Hopeson, whose husband was her manager when she was actively singing said one of the dangerous things any female entertainer can do is to combine her marital life with her career by allowing her husband to manage her.

She said, that woman’s chances of jeopardizing either her family or her profession are high adding that there are only a few women who have succeeded in effectively combining the two.

She disclosed that whenever there is a problem in the marriage it affects the career of the women and vice versa when she is being managed by her husband.

The MUSIGA President further explained that the men usually tend to dominate the decision process when it comes to management, even if the decision may not be in the interest of the artiste.

She shared her own experience with former husband, Reverend Akiwumi saying he used to be her manager and at a point she had to sacrifice her career to save her marriage due to misunderstandings. She said in spite of the sacrifices she made, the marriage still ended in diivorce adding that it took the grace of God to get to where she is now.

Mrs. Hopeson urged women to maximize their potentials and defy all odds so that they can impact positively on society.
