Mr. Padmore Nyankopa Arthur is said to have passed away days after he declared his intention to contest the Parliamentary primaries in the Amenfi Central Constituency, when nominations opened last week.
NPP sympathizers in the Amenfi Central Constituency in the region say they have been shocked by the death of Mr. Padmore Kofi Nyankopa Arthur, who also contested the 2008 Parliamentary elections but lost to the NDC’s George Arthur.
The late Nyankopa Arthur was the former Coordinator for National Disaster Management Organisation for the area.
Constituency Chairman Mr. Moses Ampofo disclosed to Adom News that the party received the sad information on Tuesday morning.
Mr. Ampofo said the late Mr. Arthur was preparing to pick up a nomination form to contest the April 30 primaries, before his sudden death.
He said the cause of Mr. Arthur’s death was yet to be determined.
