BENIN – FORMER Chief Whip of the senate, Senator Rowland Owie, former military Governor of Cross River State, AVM Gregory Agboneni, and their followers will today, dump the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

They will be joined by Mr Mathew Urhohide, who recently lost the Edo South senatorial ticket to Senator Ehigie Uzamere. Meanwhile, over 300 persons, including the former state Woman leader of the ACN, Lady Esther Ero, yesterday, dumped the ACN for the PDP.

Senator Owie had told Vanguard in an interview that he decided to leave the party due to the way and manner the party was  run in the state. The ceremony for their entrance into the PDP will be held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium and they would be received by the national leader of the PDP and former Chairman Board of Trustees of the PDP, Chief Tony Anenih.

However, the former state representative on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr Mathew Iduoriyenkenwen, who received the decampees in Ikpoba Okhai, assured that they would not be discriminated against in the party, adding that the new PDP in the state “is the one that believed in the rule of law, against imposition and dictatorship as we are witnessing today (yesterday) in the ACN.”
