Nice midfielder Emerse Fae says Manchester City defender Kolo Toure, who has been suspended by the club after testing positive for a specified substance, is innocent.

The 27-year-old, who has played with Toure since 2005 for the Ivory Coast, says he’s ready to cut his hand off to prove his team-mate is not guilty of any wrong doing.

“It does not resemble him at all. He is a very homely person with a healthy life,” Fae told French radio RMC on Friday.

“I’d be willing to cut off my hand to prove his innocence. In the national team, he’s our big brother. I’m confident that the sample B will set him free.”

Toure’s former coach at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, had previously echoed Fae’s words regarding the City star’s healthy lifestyle and admitted his belief that the defender had mistakenly took a weight control substance belonging to his wife.
