Del Neri was keen to show he is still the strongman at Vinovo despite reports this week claiming his reign had weakened.
“I have been given the backing from directors and they showed faith in the work I have been doing,” Del Neri told the press.
“We have missed consistency this season and we are team built on the go, therefore there have been problems with the assembly of the team.
“My future? I am not worried. The relationship with the club is solid.”
Milan come to town tomorrow night, and it is a chance for the Old Lady to regain a grip in the league after sliding to defeats against Lecce and Bologna.
“Every game is decisive. The important thing is to interpret it in the right way,” added Del Neri.
“It’s a game which arrives after a not-so-good period for us. But it’s the right time to take what we have left behind on the pitch recently.
“It’s a stimulating game for us. And I think we can obtain something important from it with the right enthusiasm, especially for the future.”
Milan will be sweeping towards Juventus with force, but Del Neri insists his defenders cannot show Zlatan Ibrahimovic and company the red carpet up front.
“The idea is to try to create a defence which has a defensive habit because giving Milan chances always becomes… well, they have great players up front so they can be really incisive with every move,” he said.
The Rossoneri head to Turin in pole position in Serie A with 58 points, with Juve 17 points back in seventh spot.
