Gyan Boosted As Welbeck Returns To Training

Ghanaian-born striker Danny Welbeck is back in training at Sunderland after recovering from injury.

His return is a massive boost for his strike partner Asamoah Gyan who had been playing as the lone striker for the club.

This come after Darren Bent left thre club for Aston Villa which means Gyan has to strugle upfront alone.

Welbeck has not played since he picked up a hamstring injury in the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on January 5.

Welbeck tweeted: “Well people! 1st training session back went very well… Nuffin (sic) better than getting back on the pitch ”

The 20-year-old could now feature in Saturday’s game against Arsenal after manager Steve Bruce said: “Danny Welbeck is training today with Fraizer Campbell.

“Welbeck, if he comes through the next two days, could be involved on Saturday.”
