The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) Senatorial Candidate for Lagos Central, Chief Oluremi Tinubu, has restated her commitment to working for the glory of the state, if elected.

Mrs Tinubu spoke yesterday while addressing reporters on her aspirations and plans for the district.

She said she would work in unison with her colleagues to ensure that laws are practically implemented for the overall good of all Nigerians.

Mrs Tinubu promised to pursue the promulgation of laws that will promote social security, stability and development; and urged Lagosians to support her.

She said: “I have observed that politicians are fond of reneging on promises, but by the grace of God, my period at the Senate would be different because I would ensure that good laws are not only promulgated, but duly implemented.”

Mrs Tinubu said her ambition to represent Lagos Central was borne out of the need to ensure even distribution of infrastructure and improve the standard of living of the average Nigerian.

On her eligibility for the senate, she said her experience as the First Lady of   Lagos State, between 1999 and 2007; and also as the President of the New Era Foundation (NEF), were sufficient proofs that she has “the capacity, experience and knowledge to convincingly represent Lagos Central.”

Mrs Tinubu said the ACN stands for “the ideals of the founding fathers of the nation,” adding that the party has realistic plans to develop Nigeria.

She said: “The middle class and low-income Nigerians are hurting; our educational sector is crying for help; there’s no power to drive our economy; our infrastructure needs a complete overhaul; our environment is threatened by problems of erosion and flooding; access to healthcare delivery, transportation and good roads is almost a dream.

“But we are grateful for the restoration of hope and the good work we are experiencing in Lagos, under our dynamic ACN Governor Babatunde Fashola. With proper legislation, Lagos State will be well positioned to become a true mega city in totality.
