Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos State Dr. Ade Dosunmu got a breather yesterday as a Federal High Court struck out a suit challenging his emergence.
Justice Fatima Nyako, declined jurisdiction over the suit on the ground that the plaintiff, Mr. Oluowo Adeyeri, a member of the party, lacked the locus standi to institute the action.
The judge, however, criticised Dosunmu and his party for flouting the order not to parade himself as candidate pending the determination of the suit.
Relying on the provision of Section 87 (17) of the Electoral Act 2010, the judge held that by not being either an aspirant or candidate in the party’s last governorship primary election, the plaintiff could not challenge the process
