One of the three artistes who have received the highest number of nominations for this year’s Ghana Music Awards, Trigmatic, says he has no competitor in the awards and that on April 9, he will get a clean sweep.
He says as far as he is concerned, he is the most unique of all the nominees and believes that will be his trump card for carrying away the most awards.
Trigmatic has seven nominations in the following categories; Hip Hop Song of the Year, Best Rapper of the Year, Discovery of the Year, Hiplife/Hip Hop Artiste of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
He is up against some strong contenders like gospel songstress, Cecilia Marfo, Kwabena Kwabena, Eazzy, R2Bees, Reggie Rockstone and VIP.
Trigmatic told Adom Entertainment News he believes each of the nominees has a chance at winning the awards but is optimistic that he will emerge victorious.
In his opinion, the failure of a lot of musicians – who were in the prime of their career – to shine on, is due to their disappointment at not winning awards they thought they deserved to win.
He said such musicians become demoralized because their dreams had been shattered so they are not pushed to even do more and disclosed that he is psyching himself up in order not to fall a victim like some of his colleagues.
Trigmatic revealed that he had wallowed in the ‘dark’ for a long time so he sees his nominations as a divine opportunity from above and said he is looking up to God for greater things in his career.
“I want to urge my fans to start voting for me to brighten my chances of clinching more awards,” he said.
