The spokesperson of Vice President John Mahama, has advised the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to engage the services of a psychologist to take care of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after the Mills-led administration gives him the shock of his life during the 2012 elections.

John Jinapor said the posture and utterances of the NPP flagbearer “clearly show” that Nana Addo is desperate to be President and might develop a psychological problem if he loses the next general elections which could possibly be the end of his political career.

“NPP should get a very very good psychologist to examine him [Nana Addo] because something might happen to him come 2012. President Mills would be elected another year to continue the good works that he has already started”.

Nana Addo on Tuesday mocked President Mills’ Action Year declaration, describing it “as a year of ration”. Addressing his party people at the last leg of his national tour in the Central Region, Nana Addo said, Ghanaians were curious about the import of President Mills’ declaration of the year 2011 as the “Year of Action” until the President cleared all doubts at his recent State of the Nation address.

Nana Addo said apart from the worsening suffering of the masses, everything else including electricity, water, road works and the implementation of the single spine salary structure is being rationed.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana programme on Wednesday, March 2, John Jinapor said President Mills’s “unsurpassed” achievement in his first term in government would surely win him another term.

He further urged supporters of the NDC not to be perturbed about the comments and utterances of the NPP flagbearer, adding that the NDC government would do everything possible to ensure that the elections are held in a free and fair atmosphere.

Taking her turn, a member of the NPP, Frances Essiam said the NDC should be the ones to engage a Psychiatrist, not a Psycologist, to examine President Mills and his Vice President since the NPP would shock them in 2012.

She justified Nana Addo’s criticisms of President Mills’ year of ration adding that President Mills has completely failed Ghanaians. Frances Essiam said the NDC has for the last three years neglected their responsibility to implement policies to the benefit of Ghanaians. “Nana Addo is hundred percent correct and he should sensitize Ghanaians that there is an alternative waiting for them come 2012”.

She added that the propaganda governance adopted by the NDC must subside, urging them to focus on developing the nation.
