Jonathan won’t witch-hunt opponents

President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, said he would not witch-hunt his opponents.

Jonathan spoke in Akure, Ondo State and Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

He was in the states for his re-election campaign.

In Ekiti, he appealed to factions in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to unite.

He said: “I urge you to unite. Let the PDP family unite. As long as you unite, the sky will be our limit. Nothing should hinder us. Nothing should slow us down. Anything that you observe should be seen as a road bump that you overcome.”

The President said N50 billion has been set aside to create jobs and improve social amenities.

He said: “The Nigerian economy is youth-driven. Over 70 per cent of 150 million Nigerians are under 30.

“Also, over 50 per cent of the population are under 19, so you can realise that we need to do enough to help the youths of this country and youth empowerment is part of the objectives of this administration.’’

He assured Nigerians that he would support the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that the vote of Nigerians count in the elections.

The President warned that ‘’whoever poses any threat to the attainment of free, fair and credible elections will face the law. This time it will be one man, one vote; one womam, one vote; one youth, one vote.”
