The Daily Guide newspaper on Wednesday reported that the NDC Chief Scribe is believed to have simultaneously put up two big mansions in Accra and Kumasi within the last two years.
Touted as one of the finest in the Oyarifa area, the newspaper citing close sources say, actual work on the two-storey building commenced somewhere in November 2009 and is almost near completion stage within the space of a year. It is said to be fitted with a number of air conditioners, water reservoir and satellite dish, with street lights around it and a security post attached to it.
The second edifice at Daaban Panyin, a suburb of Kumasi, is believed to have taken some six months to construct and it is almost near completion, with a boy’s quarters. Landscaping is already being done at top speed claims the Daily Guide newspaper.
But reacting to the story in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peacefm’s flagship programme “Kokrokoo”, General Mosquito as the NDC Chief Scribe is commonly referred to, sarcastically asked the Daily Guide to go for the house in Kumasi and use it as their offices since the newspaper claims he (Asiedu) owns it.
“I don’t know Daaban so if anyone has seen a house there they should give it to Daily Guide to use as their office. However, it is true I have a house at Oyarifa which is not fully completed… Sometimes, I move from my residence at Sakumono to Oyarifa just to have my peace and for relaxation purposes…,” he explained.
