There are no plans for Obafemi Martins to join Birmingham City on a permanent deal in the summer, Rubin Kazan coach Kurban Berdyev has confirmed.
The striker came off the bench to score the winner in Sunday’s League Cup final against Arsenal, prompting suggestions that the Blues could want to keep him in the long-term.
However, Berdyev says his side are yet to receive any bids for the Nigerian.
“Martins left Rubin for family reasons. He has a son and we agreed he will stay close with his family until the summer and then return to Kazan. We have not received any official offers,” Berdyev told Championnat.ru.
Elsewhere in Russia, Zenit have confirmed via their official website that they are not going to make an approach to Spartak Moscow for Aiden McGeady.
