Manchester City are considering making a move for Real Madrid midfielder Kaka, according to a report in AS.

City are keen to add a playmaker to their squad in the summer transfer window and they supposedly see the 28-year-old as the perfect target for their midfield.

Kaka joined Real Madrid from AC Milan in the summer of 2009, but he has so far been unable to make an impact at the Santiago Bernabeu, partially due to injuries.

He has mainly been warming the bench since his return to full match fitness, and Madrid coach Jose Mourinho seems to prefer the likes of Mesut Oezil and Angel Di Maria for the attacking midfield positions.

Therefore, Kaka could be on his way out of the Spanish capital at the end of the season, with the midfielder previously linked with Chelsea, but City are hopeful that they’ll be able to lure the former AC Milan star to Manchester.

Russian powerhouse Rubin Kazan are also believed to be interested in signing the player, but it appears to be very unlikely that Kaka would consider a move east.
