The Dynasty diva, who had joined Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter’s viewing party and dinner at Hollywood’s iconic Sunset Tower Hotel, started to feel faint about 10pm and rested on a sofa in the hotel’s Tower Bar before her husband, Percy Gibson, called an ambulance.
She was discreetly helped out of the back of the hotel, the New York Post reported.
Collins, 77, who recently completed an acclaimed one-woman show at Feinstein’s nightclub at The Regency, told the Post by phone, “We had been there for seven hours, and I started feeling dizzy.
“I tried to get some air, but I felt really faint. I wanted to leave in our limo, but Percy decided to call an ambulance.
“We went to the hospital, and they did all the tests before the doctors told me I was absolutely fine and released me.
“The truth was, I made the wrong decision to wear a very tight dress, and had something rather like a Victorian swoon. The good news is, I am in good health and feel fine today.”
Also at the party, newly single Jude Law cuddled up to Cameron Diaz in a booth before trying his famous charms on Scarlett Johansson, who was surrounded by male admirers.
Gwyneth Paltrow said: “I was so nervous about my performance, I had to drink a Guinness on the way there.
“I think it went well. I enjoyed the ceremony. I think Anne Hathaway did a good job as the funny woman against James’ [Franco’s] straight man.”
Tom Hanks had advice for young Justin Bieber: “Make sure you stay grounded, don’t let fame change you.”
Bieber told the Post:”I am excited to be here, and I am really happy that my film did so well. Have you met my girlfriend, Selena Gomez?”
Sandra Bullock, who tried to eat an In-N-Out Burger, nearly ruined her dress when the contents slipped out of the bun and fell on her chest.
And despite rumors of a flirtation with Black Swan beauty Mila Kunis, Justin Timberlake cuddled with girlfriend Jessica Biel in a booth.
