Ernest Asante’s injury is not serious as feared
Norwegian side IK Start have confirmed Ghanaian midfielder Ernest Asante will not be sidelined for long after suffering a muscle strain.
Concerns were raised over the availability of the 22-year-old when he picked up the injury in Monday’s friendly against Danish side Randers FC.
But ultrasonic testing showed Asante would be fit in 20 days for the Norwegian league opener against Odd Grenland.
IK Start doctor Kenneth Undhjem said: “We cannot exclude that there is a small stretch. When there are a couple of days so will not necessarily ultrasound could reveal everything.”
The Sunyani-born joined Start after impressing on trials from Beveren.
